There wasn't really any time to waste, was there? Add needed to perfect his time travel formula to save his family, and he needed to do it now. Through exhaustive work in his lab, entirely shutting out the world outside, Add quickly stumbles upon a formula that would allow his Dynamos to manipulate time and space. After a quick battle to obtain a Moon Stone, a suitable power source for his experiments, Add becomes capable of jumping through time and space - at a cost. Using this power incurs what Add affectionately refers to as 'Time Sickness' - his body is rotting.

Add accepts it as the consequences of his desire to bend natural laws and leap through time - besides, it's not like he'd be doing it all that much. Just one trip is all it would take. Add spends years further refining his formula, until the big day finally comes - Add takes the leap back to his own time. And for a moment, everything is just as it should be - he can see his mother, and the house should be broken into any second...

But that second never comes. Add watches in furious disbelief as this... this thing wearing his face ran up to his mother, absolutely overjoyed. What was going on?

Stepping away, Add confirmed what he already knew to be true - that this was not the same world he had originally started in. This timeline was fundamentally different than the others. And that was unacceptable. Where is she? Where is his mother? Add made furious jump after jump through time, but like the universe was mocking him, Add always found himself back at that damnable perfect, peaceful scene. He must have brute forced timelines for weeks before his finally began failing to keep up, and he found himself collapsed against the familiar halls of his house. As he grasped for air, that... that thing approached him. So small, so damnably innocent, asking if he was okay.

Add just couldn't understand. Why should this little runt get for free what he toiled for, was throwing his life away for? Add hated him. Hated him. Hated him.

Before he even knew what he was doing, Add had used his space powers to completely crush his past self, eyes widening in shock for a moment... Before he finally gave a cackle. Of course it came to this. To hell with it - if he can't enjoy his life, why should anyone else? This whole world, this whole timeline can go straight to hell.

Add's cackling spelled the end, as reality broke apart at the seams and the universe splinted into oblivion.

Add did not end his search there, continuing to bounce between timelines, he had truly come to the conclusion that his time was up. His body was slowly beginning to disintegrate before his eyes. So, with the last of what he had, one final experiment - he would bind his essence to time itself. He would live forever, in a purgatory of his own making until he found what he was looking for.

In a turn of events that was perhaps worse for everyone else, it worked.

The bad end timeline, basically. But a lot more likely than you think - Add basically risks turning into this any time he tries to go back in time too early. Other timelines will usually have a point where this stops being an issue (Doom Bringer and Dominator will both have points where they decide that returning to the past isn't what they want.

Or maybe another path? (Back to Main Page)
