For Knowledge

Before he did anything else, it was important that Add took the time to consider his goals. With the end goal of traveling through the past and saving his mother (Asker Grenore could rot, he had decided,) Add would not only need coordinates through time and space, which was already difficult to grasp in and of itself, but it would also require a lot of energy. Add's experiments following that lead him to trying to develop a suitable power source, but he was ultimately exhausted by the process. Wouldn't it be... so much more convenient if the Dynamos could just do this themselves...?

Thus began Add's delving into AI. He outfitted his Dynamos with a rudimentary AI, allowing them to perform tasks on their own after receiving the order to do so from Add. And Add studied on, searching for ways to not only return home, but also to further refine his Dynamos. In time, they become capable of doing all sorts of crazy things - even changing their own form or creating other drones to do Add's bidding.

That said, Add ultimately hits a wall - demons are invading, hindering his progress, and his time travel equations are still hopelessly inefficient. He also learned of a Nasod Queen, Eve, though - perhaps he could get the information he needs from her.

At least, that was his initial aspiration, but confronting the demons gave him plenty of inspiration for his own improvements. The demons seem to manipulate inorganic matter, giving them lifelike thinking abilities. No longer needing his thoughts, Add's Dynamos would begin to act in accordance with his will, becoming more and more complex.

This refinement rapidly accelerated Add's research into going into the past, but... it was around this point that Add noticed something odd. A constant, very high margin for error in his attempts to return to the past. To briefly explain, the timeline itself branches, twists, and curves - if Add goes back to the past, there's no guaruntee that Add will wind up in his own world anymore. The time travel idea was... after years of his life dedicated to research, a bust.

And that's a real shame. But maybe, at the end of the end of the day, the real issue that Add faces is that his obsession with the past in and of itself is all wrong. Maybe he's the one who should change, not the world around him.

But, what to do with his time instead of researching that?

...Godhood? That would be fun.

Dominator does ultimately release his obsession with the past, but replaces it with something just as awful: a desire for godhood, either in his own virtual universe or the real one. He also struggles to respect people - you are either valuable to him as a research subject, or you should probably get out of his way. He is probably the most refined of the Adds, but don't be fooled - the suave exterior hides a monster.

Or maybe another path? (Back to Main Page)
