For Power
...Well, it has to be power, right?
Power is what Add was missing. The simple reason that everything was taken from him is that he lacked the strength to stop it. As Add explored the new world, it was a thought that nagged at him constantly. If this was the one true thing in the world, then even with Dynamo, he was far, far too weak. He needed a pure, absolute strength - something that could never be taken from him. He'd show them. He'd show everyone that he could survive.
Perhaps it was around the point that he was beginning to have these thoughts that Add stumbled across something he viewed as truly incredible - the Nasod Queen, Eve. She was truly the work of the gods, in his eyes - a living, breathing machine, able to think, decide on morality, and understand complex concepts, just like you or me. The discovery of Eve lead to something of an absolute obsession, and he began to trail the main party of Elsword, the El Search Party (read: stalk them) across the continent of Elrios on their journey. Sensing the need for greater strength, Add begins research into a Nasod Armor to enhance his physical capabilities. It wasn't perfect, but it was good enough - Add donned the armor.
Gained:
+ Combat Sadist
+ Melee Capabilities
+ Demented Laugh
Add trails the El Search Party in relative silence, only intervening when Eve is in danger. He doesn't really give a rat's ass about the other members - Eve, however, is fascinating. What he wouldn't give for the opportunity to take her and apart and see how she works... Of course, Eve isn't really anything more than a research subject for him at this point - he doesn't truly respect Eve as a person. At some point, after the El Search Party thoroughly sabotages one of his projects purely on accident - surprise! Demons are attacking.
Fucking what.
Add continues trailing them, but it's obvious that his current capabilities just won't be enough. Add discovers a way to better concentrate God Rock energy, called a Moon Stone, and integrates that into his Nasod Armor, which would be a class up, but the second jobs serve very little lore significance in most classes so I won't dwell on it long. It's after that point, though, that Add is finally forced to reveal himself as he intercepts an attack for Eve. No longer travelling exclusively on his lonesome, the position he's in forces him to work with the El Search Party if he wants to remain close to Eve.
Add proves a powerful and competent ally, but his personality... desperately needs some work. The other party members would gradually begin to curb some of Add's worse personality traits as they travelled, from the occasional heart-to-heart or humbling of Add to the time when Eve actually just started shocking the fucker when he started acting too out of pocket.
Years of travelling lead Add to awaken the ancient city of Elrianode. There's a whole thing in Elsword about ritualistically sacrificing some woman every century to the big god rock in order to keep it from blowing up and annihilating the supercontinent of Elrios, and in spite of the fact that Add could have used that power to travel back to the past - he ultimately decides against it, whether out of some subconscious fondness for his allies or just out of spite for the fact that something was trying to decieve him. The El Search Party faces a change in direction - from fending off a demon attack, to finding a way to stabilize the El so that they don't have to constantly ritualistically sacrifice people.
Their journey leads them to the Elriabrunnr of Elrianode, a concentrated area of pure El in which people seem glimpses of their future to gain further strength. In spite of how vague they could be, Add ultimately decides that what his future self wants to communicate to him is that he's being too hesitant - he fears failure, and should have more confidence in himself. This prompts him to finally turn himself into a complete cyborg, addressing inadequacy issues in the Dynamos and amplifying his ability to destroy beyond mortal limits.
Gained:
+ ABSOLUTE POOOOOOOWER
+ Kind of just a chill dude
Lost:
- Obsession with the past.
Poking and prodding over the years from the El Search Party has prompted Add to clean up his act a fair bit. He's still a wild combat sadist, but he's come to respect the people around him more - and especially Eve, whose creator he actually tells off for being a shallow prick that doesn't respect Eve's agency or how she's surpassed her creator.
He would like to return to the past to save his mother some day, but for the time being Add, is content living out his life with the friends he's made and fighting for a future together with them.
Or maybe another path? (Back to Main Page)
